Living in the Shadow of the Stepford Sister

I love my sister. I am so thankful we are friends. She is honestly one of the most amazing women that I have ever met. BUT, people, she scares me...she's a little too perfect. With the exception of her 10 (okay, okay, 6...I still think 10) tattoos...which my kids think are way cool, she is perfect. My sister never forgets a birthday. Not only does she not forget...she sends gifts/cards/flowers on time or EARLY. Today my kids got Easter cards (complete with cash) in the mail. My poor nephew's birthday card finally went in the mail today...his birthday was in March. I haven't even bought Easter candy for my kids yet. I really suck at remembering birthdays. If I get it to you in the right season it is a good year for me.

My sister has 3 kids. Her daughter is grown and precious. She has two boys, one a senior and one a junior. These boys are amazing. They are polite, smart, athletic and they hang out with their younger cousins without being asked. They even take them for ice cream and introduce them to their girlfriends...how many teenagers do you know who do that? I love those guys! So what did she do?? Cast a spell on them...hypnotize them? I think she is just a great mom...darn her.

My nephews are BIG boys (6'7 and 6'4...last time I checked). My sister cooks for them EVERY DAY...okay, that is just going WAY too far. She has a full time job, travels AND feeds her kids homecooked meals? See what I mean? I firmly believe in allowing someone else to cook...take out rules at my house.

Did I mention she is also in grad school? Yeah...I'm not sure I even make it to her shadow...but hey, she loves me anyway!

About Me
I'm a wife, a mom, an educator and a normal (okay, relative term here) person who makes frequent mistakes. I have a lot to say, hence the blog. My kids were adopted as babies (one through an agency and one through the foster care system). I love to talk about adoption. My daughter has sensory issues as well as ADHD. I like to vent about parenting. I am occasionally rosy, usually blunt and sometimes I am simply downright rude. Don't read if it offends you. I may sometimes write about my school experiences so let me cover my bases. I don't live in your town, I don't work at your school, I am not talking about your child, you don't know me. If you think you've figured out who I am...ask me, I will lie and say you don't know me. email me at chocolatecoffeesleep@hotmail.com
