Pet Peeves
Yeah, yeah, we've all got them...and today...I'm in the mood to share some.
- People who park diagonally across two parking spaces. (Get a smaller car if you can't park the gigantic one you are driving.)
- Frivolous lawsuits (Complete waste of money.)
- Copiers (it's a personal issue)
- Spam emails
- Snotty diagnosticians who have no clue what it means to have a child with learning needs
- Unexpected company (If you stop by unexpectedly don't expect me to open the door.)
- People who are always late (NOT talking about my slacker friends here!)
- Christmas lights in February (or Halloween lights in December)
- People who come to work when they clearly don't want to be there (and then make their students suffer)
- Speakerphones (especially when you are put on speakerphone unexpectedly...I don't really like surprises)
- Unsolicited advice (from someone who barely knows me)
- Chewing gum on the sidewalk (or anywhere but the mouth or package)
Today I sat through two meetings with parents who had to hear about their child's disabilities. It made me remember sitting through my own meeting and hearing about my daughter. The moms were both in tears by the end of the meetings. And today, I cried right along with them. Sometimes parenting and teaching is really hard work.

About Me
I'm a wife, a mom, an educator and a normal (okay, relative term here) person who makes frequent mistakes. I have a lot to say, hence the blog. My kids were adopted as babies (one through an agency and one through the foster care system). I love to talk about adoption. My daughter has sensory issues as well as ADHD. I like to vent about parenting. I am occasionally rosy, usually blunt and sometimes I am simply downright rude. Don't read if it offends you. I may sometimes write about my school experiences so let me cover my bases. I don't live in your town, I don't work at your school, I am not talking about your child, you don't know me. If you think you've figured out who I am...ask me, I will lie and say you don't know me. email me at chocolatecoffeesleep@hotmail.com

I drive by a house every morning that STILL has their Christmas tree up in the living room window. I so hear your pet peeve! I always want to go knock on their door and say, "Hello...it is MAY!!!"
I plan on coming by your house unexpectedly and you better answer the door. j/k
