I called the hospital to tell them they had made a mistake billing insurance when my son was x-rayed. The lady answering asked if my name was T..... Uh, WHAT? Are you kidding me?? T is flapjack's birth mom...the one whose parental rights were terminated 7 years ago!!!!! My son has asthma and has had multiple x-rays. They have never used her name, she has never been with us...how did her name get on his file? And how scary is that? We changed his name for security purposes but if in some weird stroke of luck she found out his name and...it just boggles the mind. She lives in the same town we do. She has met us, although long, long ago and at the time she was not well so I doubt she would know us. BUT flapjack looks just like her and JUST exactly like his oldest brother...the one she had custody of the longest. No way she wouldn't recognize him or least take a second look if we ran into her at Walmart. Scary...and sad. Scary that I sometimes feel I need to protect my kids just a little more than others. Sad that he can't know her and that she can't see what a great kid he is.
